چکیده

Amoxicillin (AMX) is an antibiotic that has been added to the watch list of substances by European Union, through Water Framework Directive (WFD; 2000/60/EC) and its daughter regulation (Decision 2018/840) for which monitoring data have be gathered with a possibility future regulation. Previous studies demonstrated this generates toxic effects, among oxidative stress in aquatic organisms noteworthy. The aim study was evaluate effect on embryonic development teratogenic effects induced AMX at environmentally relevant concentrations oocytes embryos Danio rerio. Furthermore, biomarkers were evaluated 72 96 hpf. LC50 14.192 μgL−1, EC50 7.083 TI 2.003. Biomarkers cellular oxidation antioxidant enzymes modified concentration-dependent way respect control group (p<0.05). main malformations identified tail malformation, pericardial edema, yolk sac scoliosis, pectoral fin absence, no hatching. results allow us conclude capable inducing embryotoxic damage. This compound represents risk such as Not applicable.

Concentration-response analysis of differential gene expression in the zebrafish embryotoxicity test following flusilazole exposure.

The zebrafish embryotoxicity test (ZET) is considered a promising alternative model in predictive toxicology. Currently, morphological assessment of the embryo is the main readout for this assay. However, implementation of transcriptomics may help to detect more subtle effects, which may increase the sensitivity and predictability of the test. In this study, we tested a concentration response o...

Developmental toxicity of thyroid-active compounds in a zebrafish embryotoxicity test.

Zebrafish embryos were exposed to concentration ranges of selected thyroid-active model compounds in order to assess the applicability of zebrafish-based developmental scoring systems withinan alternative testing strategy to detect the developmental toxicity ofthyroid-active compounds. Model compounds tested included triiodothyronine (T3), propylthiouracil (PTU), methimazole (MMI), sodium perch...

An environmentally relevant concentration of estrogen induces arrest of male gonad development in zebrafish, Danio rerio.

The aim of the present study was to elucidate how full life-cycle exposure to estrogens impacts zebrafish development and reproduction, compared to partial life-cycle exposure only, and whether the estrogen-induced effects in zebrafish are reversible or irreversible. Zebrafish were exposed in a flow-through system to an environmentally relevant concentration (3 ng/L) of the synthetic estrogen 1...

Zebrafish exposure to environmentally relevant concentration of depleted uranium impairs progeny development at the molecular and histological levels

Uranium is an actinide naturally found in the environment. Anthropogenic activities lead to the release of increasing amounts of uranium and depleted uranium (DU) in the environment, posing potential risks to aquatic organisms due to radiological and chemical toxicity of this radionucleide. Although environmental contaminations with high levels of uranium have already been observed, chronic exp...

Effect of environmentally-relevant concentrations of nonylphenol on sexual differentiation in zebrafish: a multi-generational study

Nonylphenol (NP) is a persistent environmental chemical that can disrupt the organism's endocrine system, and is detected in the surface water and sea. In this study, we investigated whether NP can alter transcriptional expression of sexual differentiation-related genes. Three generations of zebrafish were exposed to 0, 2, 20 and 200 μg·L-1 of NP, and transcriptional expression of sexual differ...
